*Reports out of Tennessee suggest strongly that Chris Brown has now moved ahead of LenDale White in the battle for the starting RB job. Head coach Jeff Fisher noted how White has hurt his chances by once again missing practice due to injuries which opened the door for Brown to step in. Brown was a decent fantasy option for the first 10 games or so back in 2004 but has been a non-entity since then due to his own battle with injuries. If he does in fact get the job, he is worth an add as a third back who you hope gets off to a good start and builds up trade value. If that does indeed occur, then deal Brown to the first guy who makes you an offer.

*The Atlanta Falcons have called the Oakland Raiders to gauge the availability of QB’s Josh McCown and Andrew Walter. Apparently the Falcons aren’t convinced that the so far solid play of Joey Harrington will carry over into the season. This deal makes sense for both parties in that the Raiders have four QB’s(Ja Marcus Russell when he signs, and Daunte Culpepper also) and need to cut or trade one before the opener, while the Falcons have a glaring hole at the position due to someone in the news getting into some kind of trouble. If McCown lands in Atlanta and gets the chance the start, he could be a borderline bye week fill-in as he has demonstrated decent ability in spurts while with Arizona.

*Newly signed Chiefs RB Larry Johnson hinted he doesn’t feel he will be ready for a full workload in Week 1 due to missing so much time in camp with his holdout. “What I know about myself is I’ve never been a fast starter coming out of the blocks in a season.” If that’s the case, backups Michael Bennett and rookie Kolby Smith could see some increased time spelling Johnson. This is a tricky play for Week 1 owners in that Johnson may see as few as 15 carries but 15 carries for him could be worth more than 25 from someone else. If you have a decent third back, start him. If not, than put Johnson in and appreciate what he can contribute.

*Word out New England is that Sammy Morris may become the kiss of death(A.K.A. goal-line back) for Laurence Maroney owners. Maroney is coming off major off-season shoulder surgery and coach Bill Belichick has made note how he worries about the pounding that shoulder could take inside the cramped quarters of the red zone. If this plan does go through, it would be devastating news to Maroney owners who were hoping for a bust out season. This would send Maroney from RB 1 status to RB 2 status in a heartbeat. Pay attention to this situation and get the bucket to puke in if this does come to fruition.

*Deverey Henderson once again is dealing with injuries and could wind up missing the season opener as a result. A bum hamstring is the culprit this time and so Terrence Copper could join Marques Colston in the starting lineup in Week 1. Henderson has tons of talent but injuries continue to hurt his development and ultimately kill his fantasy football prospects. Don’t cut him right now by any means if your an owner but if this keeps up throughout the year, then it may be time to let him go.

*Jets RB Thomas Jones continues to miss practice and ride the stationary bike as he recovers from a strained calf. Head coach Eric Mangini continues to insist Jones will be ready for the opener against New England but the more time he misses, the more likely it is he sits out in Week 1. At this point count on Jones playing as he seems to be doing better but have other options ready in case he has to sit this one out.

*Late word out of Green Bay is that RB Vernand Morency is making rapid progress in his recovery from a strained patellar tendon in his knee and might in fact be ready to play in Week 1. It was originally thought that Morency was going to be out at least until Week 2 but now it appears he will be back at practice within a few days. This has a negative fantasy impact on Brandon Jackson owners who were hoping he would have the job all to himself in Week 1 so that he could prove he could handle the load and not the give the Pack front office a reason to take the job from him. It is no secret the coaches want Morency to start due to his experience and the fact Jackson has been horrible at picking up blitzes. At the very least, this looks like a dreaded time-share and ultimately a killing of both players’ fantasy impact.

Carmen Electra was born Tara Patrick on April 20th, 1972 in the small town of White Oak, Ohio. Tara grew up in the town of Cincinnati, Ohio. Tara is of Irish and Native American descent. Why is the Toyota Prius much-loved? One answer may be that Prius shoppers want everyone to know that they are driving a hybrid. But there are numerous reasons to add to the list.

Only a third of Prius owners cited that reason just three years ago, according to CNW, which tracks auto shopping trends. “I really want people to know that I care about the environment,” said Joy Feasley of Philadelphia, the owner of a green 2006 Prius. “I like that people stop and ask me how I like my car.” Dan Becker, the head of the global warming program at the Sierra Club added, “The Prius allowed you to make a green statement with a car for the first time ever.”

This spring, over half of the Prius owners surveyed by CNW Marketing Research of Bandon, Ore., said that the main reason they bought their car was that it makes a statement about them.

Mary Gatch of Charleston, S.C., picked the car over a hybrid version of the Toyota Camry after trading in a Lexus sedan. “I felt like the Camry Hybrid was too subtle for the message I wanted to put out there,” Gatch said. “I wanted to have the biggest impact that I could, and the Prius puts out a clearer message.”

Unlike the original Prius buyers, who wanted to be first with its innovative technology, the latest owners are far more conscious of foreign oil dependence and global warming, said Doug Coleman, Toyota’s product manager for Prius. “Consumer knowledge and consumer awareness is changing,” Coleman said.

Prius sales for the first six months of the year increased 93.7 percent from last year, to 94,503, and the Japanese automaker has already sold close to as many Prius cars as it did in all of 2006.

The Toyota Prius was first embraced by famous celebrities and remains in trend long after most cars have lost their hum. Owners have included Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Billy Joel, and Larry David. David has bought three, including one for his role in the HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Now Prius drivers are typically found in cities on the East and West Coasts, and in college towns like Ann Arbor, Mich., and State College, Pa. “You can’t drive across town without seeing half a dozen of them,” said Peter Darnell, a software engineer and Prius owner in Westford, Mass., north of Boston. Darnell admits to feeling smug this year when gasoline prices spiked above $3 a gallon. But that was not the main reason he purchased a Prius. “I have to admit that I’m a granola-crunching liberal, and I really liked the idea of minimizing the impact on the environment,” Darnell said.

Corey Confer, the general sales manager at Joel Confer Toyota in State College, said that he had received calls from as far away as Key West, Fla., from buyers looking for a Prius. His dealership advertises an $800 discount on each vehicle. A number of dealers in the West are adding $2,000 premiums.

Nationwide, Prius sales increased dramatically in May, when gasoline prices rose over $3 a gallon. Worldwide, Toyota has sold over one million Prius cars. Toyota was alarmed to see Prius sales even out last year. But before gas prices hit record levels, Prius sales were climbing again.

Toyota executives have said that they plan to offer a hybrid version of everything the company sells worldwide, perhaps as soon as 2010. That fact could make a fanatic forget about the most fascinating Volkswagen Touareg part. Japanese press reports said that the Japanese automaker may even build Prius into a separate brand, with basic and sporty Prius models.

“The Most Powerful Canadian in Hollywood”, Pamela Anderson, is embarking on an exciting residential waterfront development in her hometown of Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The project has been at least a year in the making, but the initial development plans have now been laid for the Ladysmith waterfront property. So far the scope of the development involves 72 condominiums in three separate buildings, and 11 townhouses in three other buildings. There are also plans for moorage and a marina that’ll house up to 18 boats owned by development residents. Originally the design was zoned for commercial use, but plans have since changed and the complex is set to be purely residential.

Pamela has teamed up with developer and ex-hockey player Geoff Courtnell to develop the project on what used to be Anderson’s grandparents’ property in Ladysmith. The project aims to lead as an example for smart development in the small town of Ladysmith, in terms of planning and green building standards. Environmentally friendly features will include geothermal heat exchange, pavement that is water-permeable and a re-circulating pond and stream to prevent heavy runoff. There is also a green roof plan and a storm-water management plan in place. Other environmental considerations include the planning team’s concerted effort to minimize the building’s footprint on the area. The density proposed for the site will be much less than what is currently permitted under the town’s zoning. Anderson plans to save many of the established fir and arbutus trees on the site, creating a green buffer from any potential highway noise. The focus will be on clearing only the trees that obstruct the incredible ocean views.

The particular property that is scheduled to be developed is a five acre chuck of land that was a holiday cottage business, run by Anderson’s grandparents. It overlooks the ocean and is close to a well-established neighborhood built up above an estuary. The units will change in size from 1,200 to 1,500 square feet and prices for the units have yet to be determined.

Sometimes, that’s how it feels if you don’t practice proper time management. There’s so much to do and you’re already burning the candle at both ends, yet you never seem to finish everything you set out to do, everything you need to do.

The Spanish have a proverb that says, “Time is short, but wide.” That means we all have the same twenty-four hours each day; it’s what we do with it that matters. So what do you do when there’s so much demanding your attention and seemingly not enough time to get it all done?

First, in order to use your time wisely, it’s essential to find out where you waste time. Maybe it’s watching television or playing computer games, or even talking on the phone. If you work at home, you may find that well-meaning family and friends can waste a great deal of your working time. It’s hard to make them understand that just because you work from home; it doesn’t mean you are always available to them.

You need to prioritize those many tasks. Start by making a to-do list of the tasks that need to be done each day. Only include the essential, must be done by day’s end, jobs. Don’t waste time on the trivial tasks. Estimate how much time each job will require. Try not to under estimate, or you’ll feel like you’re running behind all day. However, be realistic about what you can achieve in the time given. Don’t forget to allow for the unexpected; have a contingency plan. It’s important to be flexible; don’t get stressed out over interruptions in your schedule.

Focusing on your priorities is extremely important. It’s easy to get sidetracked with other less important tasks. Try to tackle the most important or most difficult task early in the day, when your mind is at its energetic peak. You’re rested and raring to go. Jump right in and get going. It’s too easy to put off that uncomfortably difficult job, day after day. Procrastination then sets in and you’re in trouble. Be honest and ask yourself this question. Is this something I absolutely have to do or need to do right now? If not, push it to one side for later or if it’s important, but not urgent, delegate it to someone else.

For many tasks, small blocks of time will do. Fifteen minutes here, thirty minutes there, and you’d be surprised how much you can finish by day’s end. Check off each task as you complete it. This will give you a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

Get yourself a Day Planner or pocket calendar, and start keeping track of your obligations, tasks, commitments and goals. Update it regularly. Each night, make your to-do list for the next day, so you know precisely what you’ll be working on.

And remember what H. Jackson Brown, Jr. said. “Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo DaVinci, Thomas Jefferson and Albert Einstein.”
