Born in Brooks County, Texas, Eva is of Mexican and American descent. Her family lived and worked on farmland, often having little money. She and her three older sisters grew up poor but when she made it in show business, things looked slightly better for them financially.
Eva started getting television roles in 2000, appearing in Beverly Hills 90210 and General Hospital. Then came her big break on the popular American soap opera The Young and the Restless, in which she played a psychotic character, Isabella, from 2001 to 2003.
In 2004, the career of this hot and sexy tv actress was well and truly launched when she starred in the worldwide hit Desperate Housewives. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for her role in the said series. She also appeared in films such as The Sentinel (2006), Harsh Times (2006), and Over Her Dead Body (2008).
We will definitely see more of hot and sexy Eva for she and her Desperate Housewives co-stars have just renewed their contracts for four years, worth $40 million. And besides, she still continues to be included in lists of Hollywood’s Most Beautiful, gracing the covers of every magazine. She is the first woman to top Maxim’s Hottest Female Stars list in two consecutive years (2005 and 2006). And last year she made it, ranking at number 9.

Get Eva Longoria’s Bridal Style – Simply White Jewelry for Less
May 30, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
When a Hollywood actress ties the knot, she often has her choice of dresses and jewelry, no matter the cost. So it’s not surprising that Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria looked so incredible when she wed Tony Parker. While famous designers may not be competing to sew you the perfect wedding gown, and your guest list might not include the entire Desperate Housewives cast, Dasha Boutique designer Sarah Stephens insists that it’s cheap – and easy! – to capture Eva’s gorgeous bridal style.
Timing
Eva Longoria went through three sets of jewelry accessories during her wedding weekend extravaganza. Her civil service ceremony called for a more casual look, allowing her to default to a cascade necklace replete with gemstones and metals. Copy this look at your rehearsal dinner with a princess length layered necklace boasting a combination of pearls, moonstones or quartz.
Personality
Jewelry is the secret weapon of every female celebrity, whether she’s walking the aisle or stepping out to the corner store for another box of ginger tea. A subtle pair of earrings, a bracelet full of bling, or a bold gemstone pendant necklace all add a particularly personal touch to an outfit and over time, each individual woman’s accessory style becomes part of her signature look. Unlike clothing, the most beautiful jewelry is timeless, so it can be worn again and again, with almost any outfit. However, just like clothing, jewelry colors and designs must be tailored to the individual wearer to complement her natural features best. So while you read up on these particular celebrity looks, keep in mind that accessories are your opportunity to make your wedding ensemble specifically yours and act as a subtle reminder to all how personal this day really is.
Simplicity
At the wedding ceremony, Eva uncharacteristically left her neck bare and concentrated on her earlobes. Her simple, diamond clustered earrings echoed the purity of her white dress and veil, lending additional contrast to her naturally darker hues. Get the Look: Substitute pearls and semi-precious gemstones for a beautifully white alternative, as in these handmade earrings here.

Desperate Housewives Stars Attend Over Her Dead Body Premiere
May 13, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
Tuesday night was a big one for the stars of ABC as they got together at the Cinerama Dome/Arclight Theaters in Hollywood to celebrate the premiere of the romantic comedy Over Her Dead Body, in which Eva Longoria Parker stars. Other stars walking down the red carpet were Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan, Brenda Strong and Andrea Bowen, as well as Longoria-Parker’s film co-stars Jason Biggs, Lake Bell , Stephen Root and Lindsay Sloane. Other stars present were singer Michael Bolton, Sheridan ’s long-time fiancé and Parker’s best friend, Mario Lopez (Saved by the Bell , Dancing with the Stars). However, Eva Longoria Parker’s basketball star husband Tony Parker wasn’t able to attend the event, as he was in Seattle with the San Antonio Spurs.
Over Her Dead Body, which was written by Jeff Lowell, follows the story of Henry (Paul Rudd and his fiancée, Kate (Parker), who unexpectedly dies on their wedding day. Kate’s sister, Chloe (Lindsay Sloane) then convinces Henry to see a psychic named Ashley ( Lake Bell ). However, when Ashley and Henry begin to fall for each other, Kate visits Ashley in an attempt to ruin the budding relationship.
Eva Longoria Parker, who plays Gabrielle in Desperate Housewives, previously revealed in a press conference for the film that playing a ghost was what first drew her to the film.
“That was the reason why I picked the movie,” she explained. “I thought it would be fun to play a ghost. How many times do you really get a script, you love the part, and it’s a ghost? I thought ‘She can do anything, it would be fun to play her.’”
Moreover, the Desperate Housewives star admitted that her character on the film has a few things in common with her series persona.
“I think my biggest challenge was differentiating her from Gabrielle [in the TV show]. They can both be a little bitchy, but I felt like Kate was really validated in her anger, and in her displeasure,” she explained further. “She dies on her wedding day to the man she loves, and she doesn’t want to let him go. She doesn’t know when to let go, that is her journey through the movie.”
Over Her Dead Body will be released through theaters nationwide on February 1.

Desperate Housewives: Eva Longoria Quitting Show for Motherhood?
May 1, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
Despite her previous statements regarding her staying on the highly watched series, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is reportedly hinting that she wants to leave Wisteria Lane for good. The reports recently proliferated about the 32-year-old actress wanting to settle down and start a family.
In July, Longoria’s nuptials with NBA star Tony Parker took place in lavish Paris , and she told the press that she and her husband are in talks about having children. However, she added that she is still willing to postpone motherhood for a later date, to save room for her hit television series, Desperate Housewives. Moreover, she said that she won’t depart from the show unless it ends, and that she won’t work on another series after the ABC dramedy.
However, recent reports say that Longoria is ready to quit the series to start her own family. She was quoted saying, “I’ve always loved the idea of having lots of children. If I’m around any baby, I’m like, ‘Aaaaahhhh, babies!’”
“I was pretty ambitious when I moved to Hollywood and I succeeded. But now I’ve found new ambitions,” Longoria said. “I want to work, I want to be a great wife and I want to have children. This is a new chapter in my life. I will be very sad to go but I’ll have more time to do movies.”
But aside from her dreams of becoming a mother, Longoria confessed about her dedication to being a housewife. Even if she’s busy in Los Angeles filming her hit show, she still finds time to fly back home to her husband in Texas , which is the home base of his basketball team, the San Antonio Spurs.
” Texas is home, Los Angeles is where I work,” she explained. “If Desperate Housewives call me and say you’re off tomorrow, I’ll catch a red-eye flight to Texas , be there in time to make Tony breakfast, fix him lunch and dinner, then fly back.”

Wear Jewelry Like Eva Longoria – How to Guide
April 28, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
Okay, so we’ll admit that Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is beautiful no matter what jewelry she wears – in fact she could probably hang a pair of old sneakers around her neck and still look great – but we believe that’s because she knows how to make those tennis treads look their best, and not the other way around. The following four tips will help you make the most of your jewelry too.
1. One Hairstyle Per Night
Have you ever seen Eva unclip a gorgeous updo mid-red carpet? Or sweep her locks into a ponytail halfway through a Spurs game? Neither have we. Nor do we expect to anytime soon, due to a fact that the rest of us fidgety, hairband-toting ladies seem to have forgotten: If you choose a hairstyle before you leave the house, not only will your hair-free hands display confidence and allow you to hold your cocktail (and his), you will have had the advantage of choosing jewelry for that hairstyle in front of a mirror. While we’re at it, we’re going to suggest that when your hair is down, feel free to wear something a bit shinier and showier, so that it is not lost underneath the tresses. On the other hand, err on the subtler side when your ears and neckline are exposed. Too much bling will take away from the real gem (you).
2. Big Should Be Beautiful
Eva’s defined cheekbones and oval face combine to create negative space along her chinbone where big hoops and long dangles hang. In this case, bigger earrings give length to her face (where smaller ones have the opposite effect), but there is a risk in that any bigger piece of jewelry draws a lot of attention. So we suggest that, much like our favorite actress, you don’t just throw any old pair of earrings in before you leave the house. The earrings Eva chooses are always confident, graceful and of earthy stones like chalcedony and citrine…qualities that many would also attribute to Eva herself. This combination of accessories complements, not overwhelms, the face it hangs from.
3. Simple Should Be Striking
Recently, Eva was photographed with a large Green Quartz and layered gold pendant necklace. Pendant necklaces offer an opportunity for personalization that other designs don’t because gemstones come in all sizes, shapes and colors. So if green makes your skin look wan, choose amethyst or topaz instead. If you prefer a stand alone gold chain, go for it. The point is not to copy Eva exactly, but to embrace the elements that make her jewelry work – the beauty of a single, visible stone, enhanced but not outdone by a delicate chain, will only be upstaged by your own radiant face.
4. Personalize the Engagement Ring
Honestly, we doubt that many of our readers are about to receive a ring made of 148 diamonds, or for that matter, marry an NBA star. But we do think you should feel like a celebrity during your engagement, and Eva has shown us that the trick is to make the ring as personal as Tony did. Eva’s darker skin tone cries out for diamonds, so it makes sense that her ring would carry so many. Another option is to select a whiter metal, like sterling silver or platinum, for a band that will stand out on her finger. If your skin is already pale enough, flank the diamond with a couple of small, colorful gemstones and a gold band. This will make the diamond pop, no matter its size.
In true Hollywood style, Tony went overboard by engraving a message (in his own handwriting!) inside the shank of the ring. We like a comparable, but less pricey italicized inscription on the inside of the band. Think of it as a private message that your finger can read day after day.

Eva Longoria Likes Her Ice Cream
April 11, 2008 by Shadow · Leave a Comment

Here is Eva Longoria, the new face of the luxury indulgent ice cream, Magnum. Eva appeared at the Magnum Manor in Cannes this week to launch a new range of Magnum flavors. Getting paid to eat ice cream doesn’t seem to be bothering Eva though, she says life should be enjoyed and that ‘a little indulgence goes a long way’. Besides Magnum, Eva’s biggest indulgence is her hubby, Tony Parker. I hope he’s a bigger priority than the ice cream though! Eva’s pretty face is going to be enticing you to try new flavors of Magnum, including the Magnum Min, a mini sized serving. Another flavor is Mayan inspired and is called Mayan Mystica, where the Mayans are believed to have been the first creators of chocolate. Words used for this flavor included heavenly and milk chocolate blended with nutmeg, honey, and cinnamon. Yummy! Where do I sign up Eva is very happy to be on board with this, since she says she believes in both indulgence and sensuality. Well, that’s not shocking at all. Keep an eye out for Eva’s campaign, and for these yum new flavors.

Eva Longoria Excited About Gay Neighbors on Desperate Housewives
February 4, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
Who else would be more excited about a gay couple being part of Desperate Wives other than Eva Longoria herself? The fresh upcoming season of the highly-anticipated dramedy welcomes its first ever gay couple, and the 32-year-old actress is hyped up by their moving into Wisteria Lane.
“I am really excited about the gay neighbors, it is about time,” said Longoria, who plays Gabrielle Lang on Desperate Housewives, during her Emmy red carpet interview with Access Hollywood on Sunday night. “I am surprised we haven’t had them before.”
Previous reports have already revealed that the Bob and Lee gay tandem on Desperate Housewives will be played by Tuc Watkins and Kevin Rahm, respectively. The couple flies in from New York City to the small suburban town to get away from all the buzz and live a quieter life. However, they soon find themselves in a conflict with Katherine Mayfair (played by Dana Delaney) upon installing a large fountain in their new home.
Eva Longoria adds that Dana wouldn’t be the only one who would come into conflict with the gay lovers.
“They’re funny, oh god they’re funny,” Longoria said. “[They] have a lot with Teri Hatcher [who plays Susan Mayer] – they are like, catty with her and they don’t like her and it is so fun.”
Longoria adds that she hopes that her character would eventually become a close friend of the gay couple, however there hasn’t been much interaction between Gabrielle and Rob and Lee since they started filming the fourth season of Desperate Housewives.
“They’re my neighbors. They are actually the house right next to me and I haven’t really interacted with them too much,” Longoria sighed. “I would love [a script involving my character and their characters]. Gabrielle should be friends with the gays.”
On Sunday, September 30, Desperate Housewives will be returning for their fourth installment. New cast recruits for the new season include Nathan Fillion as Katherine’s younger husband, Adam and Lyndsy Fonseca as Katherine’s 17-year-old daughter, Dylan.

Disabled Actor Calls Eva Longoria the B-word!
January 19, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
Eddie McGee recently acted opposte of Eva Longoria on Desparate Housewives. He played a character in a wheelchair who calls Eva the b-word when she refuses to move out of a handicapped parkin spot. He was delighted with this role, and commends the writers for their bravery.
Eddie says “I know a guy who walked into a Hollywood Film Studio known for horror films, who said that he wanted to kill kids and the disabled. He wanted to be an equal opportunity killer and believed that kids and disabled folk should have the same chance of dying in films as anyone else. He shook the studio exec’s hand, and was on his way home when he got a call from his agent who told him the studio called him a “freak” and they didn’t want him ever to step foot in their office again. He told me this as I was about to jump off a building, about to commit suicide. Not in real life, just in the movies.
I’d auditioned for the Fozzy music video in New York, and sent a copy of my audition to the director, Paul Hough, in Los Angeles. He’d been searching for a double-leg amputee for his ultra-low budget music video, but told me he had absolutely no luck in finding someone who would do the role because it was a suicidal character and others felt that they shouldn’t play a disabled suicide character. The main character, a man in a wheelchair, comes to the lobby of a building to find that the elevators are out of service. He then throws himself out of the chair, and using only his arms, hand-walks up the stairs. This is intercut with the band playing on the roof. After the epic ordeal, he gets to the roof, crawls past the band, and throws himself off the ledge. The video went on to play on MTV, but the shot of me throwing myself off the ledge was censored out.
I trained extremely hard for this role and was excited to play it for several reasons. First, it was an extremely demanding physical role. But second, it was unexpected and totally not the stereotypical role a disabled actor would normally be offered.
You see, I wasn’t just another soldier returning from the war who had had his leg blown off. I’ve played that role several times, most recently on Guiding Light and Law & Order. And while I’m absolutely overjoyed every time it comes on, and will continue to play those roles, one could say that the lines for both were completely interchangeable.
I don’t believe this helps.
I went up to Canada and got trained in wire-work, which is the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon-style of stunt-fighting. Upon the same director hearing that, he wrote a new role for me in which I got to do major wire-work stunts. It’s not often, well…never, that you see a real guy with only one leg doing triple somersaults and all his own stunts. The thing is, however, that Paul knows how much we’re stereotyped, and uses that in the film to such an extent, that when people watch it they’re blown away by my character’s revelation. I’m proud to say it has won tremendous awards from London (won Best Film at The London Sci Fi Film Festival 2007) to Canada (won Audience Award at The Fantasia Film Festival) and around the USA, even in my home town, where it won Best Film at The Long Island Film Festival. Aside from the exceptional direction, it is a part so well-written for a disabled actor that it pushes past all stereotypes.
Recently at The Palm Springs Film Festival, I was blown away by how many filmmakers, upon seeing The Angel, came up to me stating that they’d now write roles for me. What struck me was that they did it because they’d seen me painted in a particular light that was fresh for them. And that I wasn’t playing a “disabled” role.
I think that’s the major problem, that “disabled” actors always play “disabled” roles.
I have had the hardest trouble finding a good manager or agent because I’ve only been seen as the “disabled” guy. I don’t want more “disabled” roles in Hollywood. I want to see the creatives out there realizing that disabled actors can play “regular people” roles. I don’t see why an agent won’t send me out to play “the guy next door” or “the best friend” or “the boyfriend” or “the getaway driver.
”Why do I always have to play the war veteran?
When I won Big Brother I got a lot of hate mail because a lot of disabled people were upset that I didn’t present them in a favorable light. Sorry, I was being myself. Until everyone realizes that we don’t only exist in afterschool specials, nothing will change.
I’m bored with seeing us as disabled. Everyone in the world knows what a disabled person looks like.
Isn’t it time we show people what they don’t know. Because it’s only when people are truly educated, and not narrow mindedly reinforced, that the world will become a better place
for all.”
Eddie’s most recent film The Angel was just awarded Best Narrative Short at The Newport Beach Film Festival.

Accessorize Like Eva Longoria, Courtside
January 18, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
Professional athletes ask their devoted celebrity wives to attend a wide range of events, from morning press conferences to midday games and evening championship celebrations. Eva Longoria – despite all odds – always manages to look glamorous, sexy and still appropriate for every occasion. How does she do it? Jewelry.
Married to: Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs
Eva embraces earthy tones that complement her olive skin tone and brunette locks. Her jewelry is full of jade, citrine, chalcedony and diamond stones. These glistening, green, yellow and clear gems are appropriate at any occasion and can be piled on in petite gemstone clusters or worn as large, stand-alone pendants. Eva was recently seen wearing a multi-layer gold chain necklace with a large green quartz gemstone. As a single focus piece, the necklace was a tribute to her signature style and a gorgeous accessory all in one.
Jewelry is the secret weapon of every female celebrity, whether she’s strolling the red carpet or stepping out to the corner store for another box of ginger tea. Eva consistently dons fun dangly earrings, rich with gemstones and strong metals that add a particularly personal touch to her outfit. Chandelier earrings compliment her oval-shaped face and strong chin line when her hair is up, while shorter dangles bring attention to her eyes when her hair is down.
Take a look at your own shape and hairstyle and figure out what works best for you – long faces tend to benefit from linear cascade earring designs; Round faces look best with short, drop or cluster earrings. Heart shape faces allow longer, bigger hoops and chandeliers to fill in the space below the chin. Over time, every woman’s individual accessory style becomes part of her signature look, so it’s important to figure out what works and stick with it. Look for customizable jewelry shops like this one, where you can choose the length of your earrings.
Unlike clothing, the most beautiful jewelry is timeless, so it can be worn again and again, with almost any outfit. However, just like clothing, jewelry colors must be tailored to the individual wearer to complement her natural features best. When choosing earrings, look for gemstone colors that match or are slightly darker than your eyes. This will enhance your natural sparkle and draw more attention to those baby blues (or browns, or greens…). With necklaces, be sure to keep in mind how strong your tan is – a blue necklace balances out pink or blotchy skin. Green gemstones look great on slightly olive tones. Pink or red tones warm up pale skin and black is a universal color that looks good on everyone. To get a better idea of gemstone colors click here.
While you consider Eva’s look, keep in mind that accessories are your opportunity to make your ensemble specifically yours and to develop your very own personal style. Add flare to an every day outfit, a wedding day ensemble or weekend night glam with jewelry that is perfectly and precisely you – your colors, your favorite metal, your shape and size. That way, there will always be a little glimpse of your true self in the office, at the altar or on the dance floor.
