Cheap Hearing Aids - Where Can you Source Them?
June 6, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
While hearing aids cannot restore a person’s hearing they are extremely useful in assisting the person to improve the quality of their hearing. With the correct amplification a person can hear things that may otherwise be inaudible. Many people who suffer from hearing problems do so in silence as they are unsure as to what hearing aid device would best suit their needs. Often the person is ashamed of their condition or are unable to afford a suitable hearing aid. So if you suffer hearing problems here is some advice on how you can find cheap hearing aids that you can afford and which are stylish and perform up to expectations.
Take The Time To Compare
Many health insurance companies do not offer coverage for the cost of purchasing hearing aids. Additionally there are many uninsured people that cannot afford one of the many ‘top of the shelf’ hearing aids and accordingly need access to cheap hearing aids to solve their hearing problems. So if you find yourself in this situation it is vitally important that you undertake extensive research and do comparisons of the various models and makes available. When you undertake these comparisons you should draw up a listing which compares the different hearing aids feature by feature. This is the only real way that you can reasonably assess the options available to you based on their quality and price.
Another option for you, when you are searching for cheap hearing aids, is to contact the major hearing aid manufacturers or retailers who often have old models that they wish to dispose of and maybe will do so at a heavily discounted price.
The next time you see a newly released hearing aid device model being advertised by one of the big hearing aid companies, it would be an excellent opportunity to check with them through their customer service area or their website to see if they have any superseded models that are being offloaded at sale prices. As you can imagine most of these special promotions are generally not advertised so you will need to take the initiative and make inquiries on your own.
Another way of getting a cheap hearing aid is by electing to purchase the base model of a major manufacturer’s product line of hearing aids which may not give you all of the advanced features, however you will still be receiving a quality product which is supported by a guarantee.
Sometimes surfing the internet is another great way of finding cheap hearing aids as many companies sell good quality but surplus stocks of hearing aids at low prices over the Internet. It is, however, important for you to research the brands and models being offered via the web to ensure it meets with your particular requirements.
Another option open to you in finding cheap hearing aids is to settle for an unknown or less regarded manufacturer who may make reasonable hearing aids but do not offer after sales service.
As you can see there are a number of different options to consider when you are searching for cheap hearing aids, but a word of caution, you will often get what you pay for so be careful before outlaying your money. Do your research thoroughly and ask yourself the questions - Does the product meet my requirements? Does the manufacturer or retailer offer a guarantee and after sales service? Is there a better option at a lower price?

Bathroom Planning - A Great New Look Without The Headaches
May 12, 2008 by Shadow · Comments Off
Do you look at your current bathroom set up and wished you could just scrap it and start all over again incorporating all the features you have always wanted? Well for most people this sort of project is achievable as well as being affordable.
Maybe your bathroom remodeling could be as simple as just modernizing the existing fixtures by installing a new sunken bathtub or upgrading the vanity setup or even build a separate shower cubicle with multi-head showers. Whatever it is that you want changed in your bathroom you can generally accomplish it without having to extend the space. If, however, your bathroom planning entails an extension of the room itself it could be quite expensive, particularly as walls have to be demolished and rebuilt.
Whatever your aspirations may be, bathroom planning can be an enjoyable project. Most people consider the bathroom a very important room and without a well functioning, modern and appealing bathroom the value of your home could be depressed if you ever wanted to sell.
When you are undertaking your bathroom planning, the first thing you need to know is how much space you actually have to work with and whether this is enough to enable you to install all the fixtures and fittings on your wish list. You need to take accurate measurements of the dimensions of the existing room. You will find it beneficial to actually draw up an accurate plan of the current room with all the existing fixtures as well as their dimensions.
Once you know the dimensions, and if you have determined that the area is large enough to work with without having to extend the room, then you can then start to investigate the cost of tiles for both the floor and parts of the wall structure. Your next step should be to visit your local plumbing and bathroom shop to price the fixtures and fittings such as vanities, taps, shower-heads, bath tubs and shower structures.
As previously mentioned when bathroom planning one of the first things you have to decide is whether the existing bathroom space is sufficient for your preliminary plan. For instance if the existing area is not large enough to accommodate installing the large sized shower or spa bath that you have your heart set on then you will need to consider adding to the area. If your house is single story then a modest size extension could be quite inexpensive, however, if your current bathroom is situated on an upper floor then the cost is likely to escalate.
Now that you know what kind of space you have to work with, and if the decision has been made that you need to build an extension onto the room, you now need to address the issue of what fixtures and components (such as basins, toilets, tubs and showers) that you plan on installing. You will also have to decide things like the size and style of the new fixtures. One of the main features that you should be mindful of during your bathroom planning is to ensure that you take a consistent approach. If you are going to remodel then you should do the job properly - it is pointless to install a beautiful modern shower and have an old fashioned worn out bathtub.
If you need inspiration regarding your new bathroom it makes good sense to go online and check out some of the bathroom wholesale and retailers for ideas on fixture. You could also visit a few local display homes and see how they have built their bathrooms. Getting ideas and then putting them into practice is fun and with a little bit of imagination, some thoughtful planning and of course the obligatory hard work you can transform your current arrangement into something brilliantly functional and appealing to the eye.

Bay City wants 2nd chance to honor Madonna with key to city
April 7, 2008 by Shadow · Leave a Comment
BAY CITY, Mich. - A city that more than two decades ago declined to honor Madonna with a key to the city wants the singer to give it a second chance.
Mayor Charles M. Brunner has written a letter inviting Madonna, who grew up in Bay City and the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills, to accept a key to the city, The Bay City Times reported Saturday.
“We have always been proud of your accomplishments but recently your induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reminded us that we need to honor you with the highest honor that Bay City can offer,” the letter states.
An e-mail seeking comment from a publicist for Madonna was sent Saturday by The Associated Press.
The newspaper said Madonna was considered for the honor in 1985, but at the time some thought she was too risque. The paper reports the city in the late 1980s also refused to accept a sculpture of Madonna from an Italian artist, citing a belief that her popularity would fade in time.
Now, Guy Greve, president of the Bay Arts Council, wants to commission an artist to sculpt a statue of Madonna.
“The local arts council would like to pay homage for her artistic contributions,” he said. “I could see a sculpture of her in Bay City. One of Madonna’s famous poses could be made into a sculpture.”
And City Commissioner Christopher J. Shannon, who fronts a local rock band, is planning a Madonna tribute album. He hopes to recruit local musicians to cover hits such as “Like a Virgin” and “Express Yourself.”
Madonna’s new album “Hard Candy” arrives April 29.

BOBBY BROWN DATED MADONNA
April 5, 2008 by Shadow · Leave a Comment
The singer - who was married to “I Will Always Love You” singer Whitney from 1992 to 2006 - claims he was intimate with Madonna at the height of his success.
Bobby, who makes the revelations in his autobiography “Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But,” writes: “By the time I reached my third single on the ‘Don’t Be Cruel’ album, I was one of the biggest stars in the world.”
“With success comes the women! At this time, I probably had dated half of the industry including Madonna.”
“I met Madonna early in my career. She used to open up shows for New Edition in New York at the beginning of her career, so running back into her and getting to know her better at the height of my success was like a reunion.”
“The list goes on from the who’s who to the flavor of the month.”
Meanwhile, Whitney - who has a 15-year-old daughter Bobbi with the rapper - has hit back at former drug addict Bobby’s claims she introduced him to cocaine.
A representative for Whitney said: “Miss Houston is sad that Bobby feels he need to say such things but she chooses to take the high road and will not speak badly about the father of her child even if it’s to set the record straight.”
“Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But” is set to be released in the US later this month.

How To Plan A Baby Shower Without Breaking The Bank
December 9, 2007 by Shadow · Comments Off
Everyone feels happy and joyous when a close friend or relative announces that she is expecting a baby. Even though somewhere in the world, a baby is born literally every second, the fact that someone you know is expecting a child is very special news. For some expectant women this may be the most exciting thing that is ever going to happen to them. Some people spend years trying to fall pregnant so the occasion for them can be overwhelmingly emotional. Whatever the circumstances this news is a great reason for a celebration and this is usually in the form of a baby shower.
The baby shower event is traditionally the occasion where friends and relatives get together to celebrate the impending arrival and to share some tips and give presents that the parents-to-be will find useful for their baby.
Generally, the planning of the baby shower is entrusted to the best friend or sister of the mum-to-be and for these ladies here are some great tips on how to plan a baby shower that is successful and enjoyed by all guests.
How To Plan A Baby Shower With The Minimum Of Resources
First off the baby shower party needs to be a fun-filled occasion where everybody laughs and has heaps of fun. The guests need to be able to spend a little bit of time to congratulate the mother-to-be on the wonderful news. What it does need not to be, however, is a drain on resources - particular money.
If you are the planner of the event then the first item on your agenda is to put together a guest list. This is best done in consultation with the mother-to-be to ensure no one important to her is left off the list. Once you have the list (which ideally should, for logistical reasons not exceed 30 guests), you then need to send out the baby shower invitation cards.
Rather than rush out and buy ready made cards why not get on to your computer and create some beautiful individual and unique invitation cards. As a suggestion you could scan and add a photo of the mother-to-be for that special touch. Remember to include all the required information for example date, time, venue, name of the host, RSVP as well as contact details.
The next step is to make a list with details about decorations, food, designing tips, cards for the mother-to-be and so on. Ideally decorations could be handmade and as much as possible reflect the sex of the baby. If the baby’s sex is not yet known you could use a combination of pinks and blues in the decorations. Always hang plenty of balloons and ribbons and have pretty flowers arrangements to create the party atmosphere and magical ambiance.
As for the food why not get all the guests to show off their baking prowess and arrange to have them bake, cakes, muffins, tarts, slices and biscuits. This is an inexpensive way for everyone of the guests to contribute to the cost of the occasion. Generally it is not necessary to provide the guests alcoholic drinks at baby shower parties but you could make a mildly alcoholic fruit punch for everyone to enjoy.
Don’t forget with a little bit of ingenuity and care you could work out how to plan a baby shower at minimal cost without compromising in any way on the fun of the occasion and the enjoyment of all the guests and the mum-to-be. So get your creative thinking cap on and have some fun.

One of the hippest and fastest growing fashion companies in the world, H&M was so thrilled with their first experience in working with Madonna last year that she’s now back to debut a full like of chic and trendy, yet affordable women’s clothing that she designed herself.

The collection also includes a selection of handbags and sunglasses that are offered primarily in black, white, khaki and grey tones. Review of the Madonna CD Ray of Light
September 6, 2007 by Shadow · Comments Off
The exceptionally talented Pop artist Madonna has released her CD entitled Ray Of Light. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Madonna fans, and Pop fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Ray Of Light Madonna’s artistic excellence is on full display as Madonna has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be her best work to date.
I wish it weren’t the case but, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Ray Of Light. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.
These days it’s a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.
If you’re a Madonna fan this is a CD your collection flat cannot be without. In fact, this is one of those CDs that you don’t even have to be a fan of Madonna, or even Pop to know is good. This is just good music. Period.
While the entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 1 - Drowned World / Substitute For Love, track 6 - Nothing Really Matters, and track 13 - Mer Girl
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 3 - Ray Of Light. Wow!

Madonna - Star for Life
July 20, 2007 by Shadow · Comments Off
Recent news has stated that Madonna has a $120 million record and touring deal in her future. This means that she will be leaving Warner Music Group Corp. and joining in with Live Nation Inc. due to Warner Music Group’s refusal to match this large record and touring deal.
The 49 year old will receive a signing bonus of $18 million in addition to another $17 million for what will be the first of three albums to be recorded under Live Nation Inc.’s contract. This contract will be adding to the already established wealth of the superstar that has topped the list as one of the highest paid musicians in the industry.
From 2006 to 2007, Madonna bagged a total of $72 million in change but, as you can see, she will be pocketing more money in her deal with Live Nation Inc. than what she has made in her entire career. Yet her success is due to her large fan base and the fact that this fan base paid as much as $183.76 million during her “Confessions” tour of 2006. It is the concerts that pull in the cash and not so much the record sales.
But when you go to a Madonna concert, you are not going to find a bunch of thirteen year olds with t-shirts that say, “I Love Madonna!” What you are going to find are people who have followed her career from the beginning and are die hard fans. Granted you will find some younger people amongst the crowd, but these are folks who are willing to pay big bucks for the tickets, therefore they have contributed to Madonna’s wealth.
With worldwide fame and worldwide tours grossing as much as $194 million in a year, there is no doubt as to why Madonna is one of the highest paid music entertainers in the business. Besides, she has been around for a very long time and will probably stay around for many more years to come. No one can underestimate a 49 year old entertainer who has hardly missed a beat and continues to entertain and satisfy her fans every year. In that case, she deserves her wealth.

Madonna Confesses Dance Floor Tour May Be Coming
May 21, 2007 by Shadow · Comments Off
It’s not official but Madonna may be bringing her phenomenally
successful CD, Confessions on a Dance Floor, live to a venue near
you. To date, Confessions has sold nearly 1.29 million copies in the
United States alone. It continues to top sales charts in the UK, and
Madonna was recently recognized as the female artist with the most
number one hits in the UK. It seems almost certain that Madonna’s
fan base will soon be pleading for her to finalize preparations for a
Confessions tour. How do we know Madonna may be preparing
for a tour? While not coming out and making it official, she has
made some statements that hint at the possibility.
In a recent interview, Madonna spoke about some performances
she has booked for the near future. She will be performing at the
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, on
April 30, 2006. She said, “I am especially excited about playing
Coachella before I start my own tour.” In some interviews
Madonna even talked about her vision for her next tour, some ideas
she has for its visual presentation on the stage and what the
Confessions on a Dance Floor show will represent for her.
Madonna’s plans for her tour aren’t specifically connected to
Confessions, but when she says things such as, “I want them (the
audience) to feel like they’re inside a disco ball,” it’s hard to imagine
that her vision doesn’t involve Confessions. Other statements like, “I
want a sound system in surround and the dancers personalities to
come out” indicates that a tour for Confessions is highly likely. So
what is all this excitement about?
Confessions, the fourteenth album/CD created by Madonna, is a
mix of anything you want it to be. It’s about power and
empowerment and love and its costs. In this re-invention of
Madonna herself and the disco-era, she has come back with
possibly the best work she has ever done. There are blogs and
message boards full of comments on Confessions. “I never even
liked this woman and I have to say, this is real good stuff,” one
person noted. Other comments include, “Only Madonna could bring
back disco and dance with the popularity it had in the 1970’s.”
It has been suggested that not only will she tour but that she will
focus, as she has in the past, on dance. Wherever Madonna goes
many others follow. She wants people to “get out of their seats” in
response to the music. She wants them to “have a good time
straight through and non-stop.” Considering that one song on the
CD is a hit single and she co-wrote and co-produced Confessions
with Stuart Price, (Madonna’s musical director on her 2002
Drowned World Tour and last summer’s Reinvention Tour) one
may assume that Confessions on a Dance Floor will be a visually
extraordinary concert.
Madonna, of course, didn’t do this all by herself. The genius forces
of musicality that worked with her on Confessions will no doubt
help her make the tour just as successful as the CD. Assistance
from artisans such as Bloosdhy and Avant (Grammy winners), the
producer of Madonna’s last two albums– Mirwais Ahmadzai, and
co-writer Henrik Jonback will bring the live version of Confessions
to the stage.
Madonna’s part in producing this album comes from her fascination
with post modernism and technology. In talking about the making of
Confessions on a Dance Floor she said, “I’m trying to find the
soulfulness in technology and playing with that. I would prefer to not
have back-up singers. I would rather take my own voice and layer
it and change it and put effects on it so it sounds like a lot of
different tones and timbres.”
Madonna fans know that this artist loves her craft. She is excited
about her music and passionate about bringing it to the stage. If you
haven’t heard the entire CD yet, you are in for a treat. This is the
kind of CD that requires you either find a place to relax and just
listen or occupy a space where you can start moving. There is no
typical break between the songs. This music will make even those
that don’t dance get up and move their feet. The Mistress of Visual
Artistry herself is the only one who can bring Confessions on a
Dance Floor to life on stage. Throughout the world of music, it is
rumored that this tour could start as soon as August or September
2006. Start getting in line for tickets!

Madonna Confirms Deal With Live Nation
April 5, 2007 by Shadow · Comments Off
The news is confirmed now. Madonna has entered into a global partnership with the Live Nation and is soon to become the founding artist in LN’s new Artist Nation division. Michael Rapino, the Live Nation president on 16th October made the deal public. The superstar will receive a combination of both cash and stocks in this multi-media group in return for the rights to sell three studio albums, license her name and promote concert tours.
According to Rapino, “The idea that an iconic artist like Madonna would pick a promoter to be a long-term partner with truly validates our business model”. The deal is for a period of 10 years and would encompass all the future businesses of Madonna, including music and music-related businesses, new studio albums, merchandising, fan clubs/Web sites, touring, television and film projects and other sponsorship agreements.
Michael Rapino further states that a lot of resources have been put in to build this Artist Nation division and that his team has been able to prove to Madonna the execution capacity at Artist Nation.
Valued in published reports as worth $120 million, the deal has had its share of detractors. But Rapino states that the Wall Street is yet not aware of the implication of such a global deal. Fogel, producer of Madonna’s last three worldwide tours, was the key broker in the deal. When asked about Madonna and her contractual obligations, Fogel says that Madonna is an immensely committed, creative and a competitive artist. She has delivered at all levels during her entire career and they are taking it forward from here.
According to the Diva herself, this deal is a very exciting one and will make her fans connect with her in unlimited and unprecedented ways. She further goes on to state that the paradigm shift in the music industry is acceptable to her and she’s ready to go on with the flow. She finished the discussion by further adding that “Live Nation has offered me a true partnership and, after 25 years in the business, I feel that I deserve that.”
